Family Trip to the Zoo

Who knew it would be such a production to take a short trip to the zoo? Well, I guess since having a baby it's not quite as easy to just jump in the car and take off. We practically need a checklist just to leave the house for the afternoon. We renewed our membership to the Phoenix Zoo a few weeks ago and took our first family trip there yesterday. We packed up some lunch and the baby and took off. It was a beautiful day. The weather was around 70 and slightly overcast so it wasn't too sunny. Easton stayed awake the entire time we were there and never made a peep. He loves to be outdoors and on the move. He crashed hard on the way home for a nap. We saw tons of animals including the tiger, lions, cheetah and even saw 100 year old tortoises humping. The zookeepers were laughing saying that they are still going at it after being together 80 years. Check out the slideshow of our pics to the right.

Playing with the Camera

We invested in a really nice dSLR camera before our trip to Alaska in July. I love to take pictures and decided that I better learn how to use all the settings and fancy things on the camera. I've been reading dSLR Cameras for Dummies during my few spare moments during the day. Easton
is so patient with me taking
his picture all the time. These are some of the better ones.

Ouch!!!

E had to go to the doctor today for his two month shots. If you look closely you can see 4 bandaids on his poor little legs. Daddy did the honor of holding his arms while he got poked. He screamed for a few minutes but then settled down and fell asleep. He is weighing in at 12 lb. 11 oz. which is 75%-90% percentile for weight. Length and head are still in the 25-50 percentile but the ped. said he is looking great. No more shots for two months! Yeah!!!

I put Easton in his big boy bouncer yesterday. He is still too small for it but was very interested in the toys. He just kinda leaned forward in the seat. I put his Bumbo chair underneith so he could stand up and try to bounce.

Just got out of the tub! Rub-a-dub dub!!! Easton's in the tub! Larry says he looks like Yoda, I say more like Mother Teresa.

Sunday Funday!

Larry took a few pictures of Easton and I today that I wanted to share. I don't even recognize myself. I think I got so used to seeing myself big and pregnant and carrying all the extra weight. Little E is growing so fast we are trying to take as many pics as possible.

I was doing some Ebaying this afternoon and turned E over on his side to see Apollo who was playing with his playmat. About 10 minutes later they were both fast asleep!
My two happy boys.....It's still football season and the Cardinals just won their first playoff game in like 30 some years!!!

Easton's First Christmas!

We had a wonderful first Christmas with our bundle of joy. Nate (my brother), Bethel (his wife), and Karigan (1 yr.) were unable to make the trip. Unfortunately Kari woke up the night before their flight was supposed to leave with a 102 fever. They didn't want to chance it in the airports and having her around E if she was sick. Hopefully they will make it out in February. Great grandpa Bud flew in from LA to spend the week with us too. At 87 he is sure kickin in full throttle. My parents made it from Redmond, OR a little late due to snow delays but had a wonderful trip. Mom couldn't put little Easton down. He did great being passed from person to person and loved napping in grandpa's big arms. Bud got a real kick out him as it has been a long time since he has been around a baby. We exchanged gifts on Christmas day and made a huge dinner with turkey, ham, stuffing, green beans, cranberry salad, rolls and pie of course. Such a wonderful time with family! Happy New Year to all!
