Month 9......The final countdown!

4 Weeks and counting...... I think that my body is getting me ready for the baby to come. I rarely sleep for more than an hour and a half at a time at night. It's either one thing or another. 3-4 trips to the bathroom, dreams, or cramps in my legs. All I can say is thank god I did not listen to people that were trying to get me to start the school year! I couldn't imagine chasing around 20 some eight year olds right now. Last doctor's appointment was almost two weeks ago and the doctor said that his head is down which is great. I could have told him that due to the amount of hiccups that he gets on a daily basis. Yes, I can feel them down there. It worried me some at first because some days he will get them two or three times but the doctor said it was his lungs developing and it was normal. His movements are more of rolling motions now but I still get the occasional punch or elbow in the side, sometimes to the point it is almost painful. At this point I can say that I have loved being pregnant but I am certainly over it.....for now.

Best and Worst of Pregnancy

I wanted to say congratulations to Erin and Matt on the birth of Charlotte Whitmer! 5 lb. 5 oz. born Sept. 12th in Mesa. Erin and I taught together the past few years, ended up pregnant within 5 weeks of each other and have been working out together all through pregnancy. Check out their blog at http://thewhitmers.blogspot.com

As my first pregnancy comes to a close I wanted to take some time to reflect on the highlights and low lights of pregnancy! Gosh I sound like such a teacher....reflect.....reflect.....reflect. I must say that the highlights have definitely outweighed the low points and I think that Larry would agree. I am just so amazed at how quickly the months have flown by it seems like only yesterday that I handed Larry the little onsie that said "I love my Daddy" and the journey began. To be able to bring someone into the world that is part of us both is such a miracle and it will only get better. My friends ask what it is like to be pregnant and feel the kicking inside and it really is indescribable. It is something that a mother can only experience, and what an amazing experience it has been.

5 Things I Love About Being Pregnant

1. Feeling the baby kicking. Although sometimes I feel like I am his own private punching bag it is all worth it.

2. Back Rubs. Yes, it comes along with the pain I don't have to beg for a back rub. Let's hope it continues after the baby comes. I think that the baby will be getting most of them!

3. Shopping for Baby. I guess you could call me a shopaholic to begin with but a bargain shopaholic. Easton will be the best dressed baby in the valley. One can never have too many shoes (even if he is a newborn).

4. Staying home. I consider myself "retired" from teaching. I feel very fortunate to be able to stay home to raise our little one. I don't think our house has ever been so clean!

5. Watching Larry become so protective. He has always been concerned with how I feel but since I've been pregnant he is constantly helping me off the couch, picking things up when I drop them and telling me "not to overdo things". I know that he is going to make the best dad!

5 Things I Hate About Being Pregnant

1. Peeing!!! Need I say more. When someone asks where I am it is safe to say "the bathroom". My bladder is about the size of an Ihop pancake which has me up about 3-4 times a night. I am keeping Costco in business buying toilet paper.

2. Changing body. I did not think that this would be a big deal to me but this is the first time that I have "grown out" of clothes. I have been pretty much the same size since high school. I know that the pounds are for a good reason but it still isn't fun.

3. Staying Home......yes that is in the top 5 as well. For those of you who know me well I don't idle well. It has given me a lot of time to ponder the word "labor".

4. Emotional Roller coaster. Larry can attest to this one!

5. Bending over to pick something up off the ground or to shave my legs has become a workout! Just the little things you take for granted :) It just keeps getting harder and harder.

Baby Pool

Okay, everyone has to participate! This should be fun.

Go to http://www.expectnet.com

We want everyone to go there and make guesses about our baby's weight, length, birth date, and birth time Just go to the web address and where it says invited guests over to the top left side enter in "Talbott" for the game name. When the next page pops up just click "Enter a guess" and make your own then it will show you all the guesses that others have made.

After the baby is born it figures out who wins based on a point system of how close your guesses were to the baby's actual stats.

Have fun! We can't wait to see your guesses!
