Happy Birthday Little E

As I enjoyed the morning amongst my "mommy friends" I started to think how truly blessed I am to be surrounded by such wonderful people. I don't know that I have ever felt so much love on a birthday before. Not only do I have wonderful and supportive friends around me to celebrate with, but I have my little man to share my birthday with now too and a loving husband who would give the world for me. It's hard to not get emotional when thinking about how many firsts the past year has brought. First smiles, first laughs, first tooth, first haircut, first teeth, and who can forget those first steps. My life is so rich and complete. Being a mother has made me realize just how precious the little things in life really are.

To Easton, you are the most amazing little thing in this world. Your chubby cheeks, contagous smile, and adventurous personality are one of a kind. Yes, it may have been a painful day getting you here but every ounce was worth it. I can't remember my life without you or imagine it without you in it. There are times when I get frusterated and I am sure you do to but we are all still learning so much every day. There have been so many moments that I will never forget....whether it was the look on your face when you slid down the slide head first on your own or when you first looked at your dad and said "dada". I know that as we venture into the second year there will be many ups and downs but no matter what always know that I love you.

Finger Paints or Face Paint?

Mom and I went and bought some finger paints for E the other day (don't worry they are non-toxic). The weather was so beautiful that we rolled his highchair right out in the back patio and let him go to town. As you can see most of the paint ended up in his mouth, like everything else does that he touches. We got a couple of good "paintings" to hang on the fridge and send to family and E had a great time. It made for fun pictures too which is always a bonus on my end!

Facefirst

Yes, that would be our fearless little boy going down the slide face first all by himself!
He is an animal at the park now! The taller the slide the better.

Pumpkin Patch

Easton went to his first Pumpkin Patch the other days with his friends from playgroup. First hayride and little chicks. We had loads of fun and got to bring home a baby pumpkin!

Easton checking out the baby chicks.

I had to get this little rear shot of my little hillbilly baby.
Finally a good picture of Easton and Mommy.

Easton and his little friend Charlotte. E was so excited and Charlotte was just chillin on the pumpkins!

Catching Up

We took a long weekend trip to Show Low, AZ this past weekend where Larry entered his first official mountain bike race. 35 miles in the White Mountains. His goal was to finish in around 5 hours, or just not be last. We left on Thursday afternoon and after a bit of road construction arrived at our cabin. It was a nice little two bedroom place with a little park nearby for E to play. We spent Friday going to Pinetop where we had a picnic lunch by the lake. We picked up Larry's race number then went home to have a big lasagna dinner! E and I dropped Larry off on Saturday morning for his ride. He called with about 11 miles to go so we hopped in the truck and headed toward the finish area. With Easton in his pack we only had to wait about 20 minutes for daddy to come across the finish. Just under 4 hours! Way to go honey! He ended up 21st out of 135 riders. The weather was just amazing and I even got to read by the fire with a cup of cocoa! We came home Sunday to a dead computer and have been trying to catch up ever since.
