President's Day in Pagosa Springs, CO

President's Day in Pagosa Springs, Colorado
We took our first vacation since having Easton. We drove 9 hours to Pagosa Springs to meet up with our friends Jason and Kelli who live in Denver. We left on Thursday afternoon and drove 5 hours to Kayenta, AZ. We stayed overnight there then drove the rest of the way on Friday. We stopped for a couple of hours in Durango which was great. What a cute little town! We all got to the cabin, including Jay and Kell's friends Darrin and Lea, around 6 pm. Our cabin was great. A small two bedroom with a pullout bed in the living room. It was super cute and very clean. We met a new friend there too. The neighbors had a beautiful husky. We called him Balto but don't think that was his actual name. He came around a few times a day to check on Maggie, J and Kell's maltipooh.
The boys hit the grocery store for supplies. Saturday the boys all went up to the ski hill, Wolf Creek, and had an amazing day of skiing. It was dumping snow all day long and they came back just exhausted. Us girls went into town and had some lunch, hit the local bakery and picked up a pizza for dinner. Darrin and Lea had to leave on Sunday so Kell and I packed up our snowboarding gear. The boys and Easton came along with good intentions of snowshoeing.
Needless to say Easton cried for 45 minutes after I left to go up the hill. Poor Larry sat in the truck with a screaming baby while Kelli and I hit the slopes. It was a beautiful sunny day! We did so great snowboarding. We even went up the big lift to the summit at 12,000 feet! I almost go a little woozie as we went up the chairlift.
We packed up the car on Monday morning, had some breakfast with Jay and Kell at the local breakfast stop then hit the road. We drove all 9 hours back home that day. Easton did great until the last 20 minutes of the drive when he started crying. Overall it was a great trip. According to both Larry and I we had our best days skiing/snowboarding ever! We hope to make it an annual trip.

4 month Well visit

We were back at the doctor's office yesterday morning for Easton's 4 month visit. The dreaded shots. The fun part was first though. He is now weighing in at a whopping 15 lb. 4 oz. and is 25 inches long. Amazing that he has almost doubled in weight and grown 4 inches! He did really great with his shots this time. We gave him some Tylenol prior to the visit which I think helped. It took until the 3rd shot to realize what was happening then he started screaming. He only cried for a few minutes then fell asleep on the way home. He wasn't even fussy yesterday and mommy even got to go out with her girlfriends last night for happy hour. He slept great too! 8:30-5:00 then 5:30-7:00. We have been giving him a bottle of formula before bed which I think is helping with the sleeping. I feel great too!!!

The Latest and Greatest

Easton loves to sit in his BebePod chair in the kitchen. We gave him a wooden spoon to play with and it's the perfect size for him to get his hands around. He kept bonking himself on the head with it then throwing it over his shoulder. He is figuring out that he can throw or push stuff onto the ground and mommy picks it up.
We have to start strapping Easton into his rocker. He has learned to wiggle his way down and has been turning to the side to see the TV. Larry swears he likes college basketball.

I've been organizing a playgroup through Meetup.com for the past month. We have about 12 members whos babies are all born in the fall of 08. Most are stay at home, first-time moms like me. We met today to make Valentine's crafts for dads. We did handprints in dough then baked them to hang. We also made cards. Easton loves his little friends. Clockwise: Easton, Grace, Laith, and Charlotte
Charlotte is Erin's little girl. I used to work at Tonalea with Erin and we were workout buddies throughout our pregnancies.

My First Full Night of Sleep

I got my first full night of sleep in about 10 months last night! I am sure it was just a fluke but lets keep our fingers crossed that it continues! Easton went to bed around 8:30 and slept until almost 6:00 am. I woke up at 2:30 to realize that he had not been up yet and then again around 4:00. At 5:30 I went in to check to make sure he was still breathing an sure enough he was turned half way around in his crib just passed out!

We went for a hike last weekend out at Bulldog Canyon. It was a beautiful day around 70 degrees and sunny. Only in AZ!
